The Powers That Be say they have arrested 19 people on gun and drug charges in the Carolinas who are either members or associates of the Hells Angels motorcycle club.
U.S. Attorney Bill Nettles says the suspects are from North and South Carolina and that they were arrested as part of a two-year investigation into the club’s activities.
Nettles said his agents served nearly two dozen search warrants through which they recovered a wide assortment of drugs and more than 100 firearms. The haul included two machine guns.
According to prosecutors, the the men and women hauled in during the investigation sold drugs, engaged in money laundering and threw in a little arson for good measure.
The Man says the bikers are also accused of selling weapons which they knew would be used in crimes.
Also on the list of bad behavior the suspects face are charges including racketeering, conspiracy, and a host of drug violations.
