Bike Find of the Day A Sweet Stripped Down Harley From Kraus Motor Company
Kraus Motor Company is a custom motorcycle shop way up in the mountains near Cazadero in northern California, and they aim make an entirely different sort of machine.
Satya Kraus, owner of Kraus Motor Co. professes his respect for the old school styles – and the people who created them – and his machines demonstrate those roots. Kraus says his philosophy is to use tried and true design in a new way, and that he looks to forms like gunsmithing and sculpting for his inspiration.
Kraus says the motto is to “blend form and function to mesh the worlds of beauty and ride-ability,” and this bike sure looks rideable with its tricked-out front and rear suspension and low-slung seat configuration. The updated springer front end alone is worth the price of admission.
To that end, Kraus Motor Company brings us this; The Achuma. The bike’s frame features a a thin layer of a bronze color, it’s powered by an S&S Shovelhead, 93-inch high compression motor that generates somewhere around 90 bhp, and that’s a lot of horses for the weight of the bike.
So what do you get with The Achuma? You get a sleek blend of classic Harley bobber meets motocross machine.
