Minibike Accident May Determine English Premier League Soccer Title

Sergio “Kun” Aguero may well have handed storied English football club Manchester United yet another Premier League title in a silver cup after he wrecked his foot – while riding his son’s tiny motorcycle. Aguero got the injury while riding a mini-motocross bike as he goofed around with his three-year-old son, Benjamin, at the family home in Cheshire, UK.

To make matters worse, the Argentine football star then tried to treat the injury by repeatedly applying the anesthetic freeze spray (which footballers the world over use to cover for their horrible, fake diving “injuries” suffered in search of dubious penalty kicks).

The spray reportedly caused burns and blisters and rendered the Manchester City star unable to play or train. His manager, Roberto Mancini, was seriously peeved.

Mancini expressed his fury at Aguero for failing to consult the club’s medical staff and for ignoring the possible consequences of his injury at a crucial stage of the Premier League title race. Aguero was out of a 1-1 draw at Stoke immediately following the injury.

As the top scorer for Manchester City this season, with 24 goals, Aguero will also miss a home tilt with Sunderland and may miss a crucial upcoming game at Arsenal.

So what did Aguero’s boss think of his joyride? He was none too pleased and more than willing to express his frustration to the assembled press.

“It is a stupid injury,” Mancini said. “It’s better that we don’t talk about it. I am really disappointed with what has happened to him. It’s impossible that we can lose a player to a stupid situation like this. I don’t know when he can play again. I hope he can recover for the Arsenal game.”
