Tiny Tot Ticketed in Motorcycle Crash With SUV
Okay, six years old might be a little young to be riding a motorcycle, even by our rather liberal standards, but what if that little shaver was riding a toy motorcycle – and crashed into a parked SUV?
That’s a touch over the top, and maybe it is sometimes too early to start learning to ride.
Authorities in the Mexican border town of Ciudad Juarez are keeping an eye out for miniature ruffians in training and to that end, ticketed a 6-year-old boy for reckless driving, driving without a license and not having his toy motorcycle registered.
Karla Noriega, the tiny hellion’s mother, said police took the additional step of impounded the baby-sized motorcycle that her son received as a Christmas after he “went over the high side” and ran into an SUV at a park a couple of days after Christmas.
Noriega took her case to the media when she learned that authorities were planning to charge her what she said was a “ridiculous” $183 in fines to get the tiny motorcycle back for her son.
Did that work?
You bet it did. It seems the pen is mightier than the sword and the Powers That Be dropped the fines and released the motorcycle to her son, Gael, after local newspapers published her story and applied some pressure.
