Motorcycle Bomb Kills Eight

A bomb planted on a motorcycle exploded at an Afghan vegetable market  Tuesday evening and killed eight people as residents prepared to break their daily fast during  Islamic holy month of Ramadan. The bike was parked near the Dihrawud district in Uruzgan province.

As a result of the blast spokesperson Amanullah Otaq said eight people were killed and dozens wounded.

The blast marked the latest salvo in a series of attacks as the Taliban fight back against an ongoing campaign by U.S. and NATO troops to battle the Afghan insurgency.
