Ken Tabata of Osaka, Japan took home the top prize at the AMD World Championship of Custom Bike Building, and his Tavax 2011V is a gleaming wonder of craftsmanship and pure bling.

This year’s winner is a major departure from the style of previous bikes to win the title, and whether you like it or not, you have to hand it to Tabata for his dedication, skill and pure determination in hand-crafting the sculpted aluminum bodywork to create this gleaming piece of rolling art.

It took Tabata fully three and a half years to complete the Tavax 2011V, and untold piles of yen.

The build began with a started with and S&S Shovelhead 93 engine which features a 5 speed tranny and primary belt drive. The frame is a custom Tavax original rake out to 25 degrees. The front end? Custom made by Tavax and the swingarm is a custom creation of the builder as well.

This wild bike gets from here to there on 17 inch Marchesini front and rear wheels on Dunlop tires.

To get it stopped, Tavax fitted floating rotors and Lockheed brake calipers.
