Win A Custom Harley-Davidson 1200
The H-D® Free the World Giveaway gives you a chance to win one of two Grand Prizes: a custom Harley-Davidson 1200 motorcycle and a trip to Milwaukee for two, a package worth nearly thirty grand if you’re counting, and we are.
What is this two grand prizes stuff, you ask? Well, one of the bike and trip packages will be given to a member of the military and one will go to a non-military member. There you have it.
The contest is only open is open only to legal residents of the fifty United States and the District of Columbia. You must be at least eighteen years old at the time of entry, and you won’t have to compete with employees of Harley-Davidson Motor Company, Inc. or their various digital minions to win.
The is already underway, but it doesn’t ends until the moment the lucky winners are chosen some time after December 1, 2011.
How do you enter? Visit www.H-D.com/captainamerica – or you can go straight to this site – and follow the links and instructions, fill out the registration form and you’ve got your official entry well in hand. An independent judging organization.
If you win the whole shebang? Just sign and submit a Declaration of Compliance, Liability, and Publicity Release within seven days of being notified and you can hit the road on your new Harley shortly thereafter.
Nice.
That’s not all, if you win it, and you will, you get the chance to work with the Harley-Davidson styling team and a Marvel designer to customize a Harley-Davidson® 1200C motorcycle. Stay cool, though, your customizations can’t cost more than $15,000 total, so forget having your new bike completely plated in platinum.
Hey, if you don’t win the bike you might at least win a Rider’s Edge® Class worth $500, and that’s something.
If by some odd reason you don’t win either of those prizes and just want to know exactly who to turn on with your envious, spiteful wrath, a winner list will be available at http://bit.ly/iNLsS1 after the lucky winner is confirmed. It will all be over, for better or worse by March 31, 2012.

The Production History of the H-D WLA Model
Harley-Davidson began making the WLA in small numbers in 1940 as part of a general military expansion in anticipation of the coming world war. Something like 90,000 were produced during the war and Harley-Davidson would also created a WLA version for the Canadian Army called the WLC .
All the WLAs produced after the US entrance into the war were given serial numbers indicating they were produced in 1942. The largest number of the models was produce in 1943 and marked 43WLC. Frames and some other parts were not tagged with serial numbers making their production year impossible to accurately date.
